Castings in New York

New York castings, while showcasing a range of projects, share some common ground. Typically, auditions follow one of two paths: actors with agents will have a pre-scheduled appointment, while those without will sign in with the stage manager or greeter. Be sure to bring your headshot and resume, and if you have one, an information sheet detailing your past roles and experiences. New York auditions are known to attract a large pool of actors, so don't let others being seen ahead of you dishearten you. To ensure you're on the list, be sure to sign in at the desk when you arrive.

Keep your audition monologue short and sweet. Three minutes or less is ideal. This will give the casting director a chance to see your talent and acting skills.
